Abby Sciuto's Office, All day Tuesday

Abby knew that it was possible that some of her new students wouldn't have computers. So she made some phone calls and and settled down in her office to see if any students showed up.

She busied herself by working on her lesson plans. Or by playing Halo 2. Whichever.

It took Ray a few false starts before he actually finds the office he's looking for. Having finally found it, he knocked once and waited.

"It's open." Abby yelled. "Well, it's not open, but it's unlocked so come in anyway!"

He opened the door and took one step inside before stopping. "I think you called me."

[cheerfulgoth]

"I probably did. Who are you excactly?" Abby asked, dragging out her roster for class.

[the_right_ray]

"Ray Kowalski," he answered. "Just Ray."

[D'oh!]

[cheerfulgoth]

"Well, Just Ray;" Abby smiled. "I have you in my class tomorrow. Are you here to check out a computer for the semester?"

[I saw nothing]

[the_right_ray]

"Yeah, I don't have one," Ray said and nodded. "I've got a calculator and a walkman. Don't think those will work."

[cheerfulgoth]

"No, not really. Although I'm sure someone here could take those and build you a computer...or a rampaging monster." Abby handed over a form. "Fill this out and I'll give you a computer."

[the_right_ray]

"This place has some kind of preoccupation with things that go bump in the night," Ray muttered and filled out the form. "Here you go."

[cheerfulgoth]

"It's a sickness we all have. Don't worry, you'll catch it soon enough." Abby looked over the form and nodded. "Everything looks fine. Do you have previous experience with computers?"

[the_right_ray]

"Uh..." He thought about that for a moment. "Some, yeah. Not a lot. I can turn it on and make it go."

[cheerfulgoth]

"Bless you, Ray." Abby said gratefully. "That's more than enough to qualify you for taking this computer home with you today." She held out a school laptop.

"Don't beat on it, burn it, lose it or sell it. If you do commit a crime with it, just tell them that you stole it from the school."

[the_right_ray]

"Will do," he said and took the computer. "I'll be it's best friend, I promise. Take it on a date. Except not really."

"Don't ask, don't tell." Abby grinned. "See you in class tomorrow, Ray!"
