After signing up for Queen's blind dating game, Nanami anxiously awaits her first date. Meanwhile, Lo Hak takes his first step in moving on from Wyatt.
Lo Hak: *he'll admit he's a bit nervous. It's the first time he's considered going 'out' with anyone since Wyatt, but... well, he figures this is best. He'll move on and let Wyatt find his happiness. He looked around and spotted Nanami, waving and approaching] Um, hi. I'm your date, Lo Hak.
Nanami: Huh? O-oh!! *brushes her hair aside as she looks up from the table she's sitting at, then awkwardly tries to decide between a wave and a handshake, before ultimately deciding on offering a handshake* I-I'm Nanami! I'm your date, too!!
Lo Hak: [he beams his sunshine grin and takes her hand, shaking it and then unashamedly giving her a quick hug and sitting down] I hope I haven't kept you waiting to long.
Nanami: N-no, not at all! I'm just.. *still trying to process the quick handshake and hug* I arrived early because I was worried -I- would be late! I think you're right on time, actually! *nods happily*
Lo Hak: Oh, well, that's good! So, um, I heard it was rude to show up to a date empty handed, and considering the holiday... [he reached in his coat and pulled out a little box of chocolates he'd gotten from Watari earlier]
Nanami: No, no it's not rude at-- I-- *gets flustered upon seeing the box of chocolates* --th-thank you, you didn't have to-- I-I don't have anything, I didn't bring anything, I'm sorry!! *bows with her head*
Lo Hak: [he laughed, waving it off] No, no, it's all right. I mean, you're the date, so I'm supposed to bring the gift, right? Isn't that how it works?
Nanami: *fidgets with her rose for a bit* I-I don't know... I don't really... "date". *looks at him, to see if he understands*
Lo Hak: [he laughs and nods, understanding] So, um... do you know what you want to eat yet?
Nanami: *looks at the menu* I'm not sure... they don't seem to have octopi burgers... I keep forgetting to introduce that to them. In the meantime, what would you suggest, hm?~
Lo Hak: [Well, definitely not octopi burgers. That... just doesn't sound good.] Um, well, I've always had a love for the almond-crusted fish.
Nanami: *perks up* Almond? That's a nut, isn't it? Wooow, I wonder who thought of that recipe... nuts and fish... *suddenly daydreams* And think of the possibilities! Peanut-crusted? Acorn-crusted?
Lo Hak: [Aw, she's rather cute.] So, two almond-crusted? They also have lemon-sauce if you prefer that.
Nanami: *mouth wide open* ...LEMON sauce?! I-I'll take both!! I need to see this culinary breakthrough!
Lo Hak: [This girl just made him giggle, no two ways about it. He motioned the waiter over] I want the almond-crusted fish, and the lovely lady will have almond-crusted fish with lemon sauce on the side as well.
Nanami: *hands on her cheeks, oh gosh, she was called a lovely lady <3 <3 <3* Ahahaha~!! So Lo Hak! I think we need to get to know more about each other on a date... that's how they work, right? Right?
Lo Hak: Yes, I believe so. Um, I suppose I can start. Um - well, I run the baths, but you already knew that.
Nanami: Oh... ohh, that's right! You're the owner who gets extremely loud when he's angry, right?? *nods happily, really proud of her guess!* That must take a lot of vocal chords training...
Lo Hak: [he blinks, cocking his head a bit, not sure what he's getting at] I get loud when I'm angry?
Nanami: Yeah, completely! <3 I dunno who would win a shouting match between you and Viktor, but I would definitely pay to see that!! Imagine the intensity! The build-up!! *clasps her hands* A promoter's loud dream-come-true!~~~
Lo Hak: [Now he's really confused and sort of embarrassed. He yelled like that when he got angry? He didn't think he had. Lo Seng did... but...] W-Well what about you, Nanami?
Nanami: Me? *blinks in surprise* Well, I get a LITTLE loud sometimes, but that's only because of mean jerks! Really!!
Lo Hak: [Giggles] No, Nanami, I mean, tell me something about you.
Nanami: O-oh... well! Hmm... *trying to think of something interesting - she doesn't exactly have a job to talk about* Well, I'm just a war orphan. I was raised and taught how to fight by a hero, but now he's gone, too... but I wouldn't be where I am if it wasn't for him! *smiles*
Lo Hak: [He smiles softly] I know what you mean. If it wasn't for our hero, in my time, I definitely wouldn't be where I am now. I owe him a lot.
Nanami: *frowns a bit* Is he no longer alive as well?
Lo Hak: He's here, actually. His name is Lazlo. I just haven't seen him in a long time.
Nanami: H-he is?! *taps her chin with her finger, trying to think real hard* I wonder if I've seen him around... he sounds like a really nice man!! *or maybe she just likes tenkais by default*
Lo Hak: He really is! We, uh, didn't meet under the greatest of circumstances.
Nanami: ...Because there was a war in your country, too?
Lo Hak: Well yeah, and, well, see my siblings and I used to he con artists and thieves. We tried to get 10,000 potch out of Lazlo for using a bath we'd commandeered, and... well, we ended up on his ship and fighting for him instead.
Nanami: Well, I know a thing or two about dishonesty in order to protect your siblings... b-but you're good people now, right?! He's not angry at you anymore, right?
Lo Hak: [laughs] Yes, we're good people. And no, he's not mad. We're... friends now.
Nanami: Well, good! Because you seem like a nice person! *smiles~* But...
Lo Hak: But what?
Nanami: *looks worried again* I-I don't know what to do with this rose!! If I give it to you, that means I like-like you, but if I don't, it will look like I don't like you-- but I do like you-- b-but there's someone else..!!! *trying to catch her breath*
Lo Hak: [he motioned over a waiter and set down a fresh glass of water in front of her, laughing the entire time] I wont be insulted in you don't give it to me. I mean, it would be fun to see you again, but if you have your eye on a special someone, I don't want to stand in the way of it either. [Winks.]
Nanami: I-It's not like-- I'm-- uwah! *feels kind of bad anyway ;;* Wh-what if I gave you something else?! Did you know I'm an excellent chef?? *stands up and leans forward on the table* I can make octopi burgers! Acorn fish!! SOYLENT PURPLE!!! Anything your tastebuds desire!!! Okay? Okay?!
Lo Hak: Huh? Oh, no no it's quite all right! Really! [he motions her down] Don't feel bad Nanami! If you wanna pay me back, you can come keep me company sometime when I'm at work!
Nanami: Oh, that would be lovely!! *calms down and sits again... then suddenly looks hopeful* Maybe I can bring you lunch??~
Lo Hak: [DAMN! No, he's heard the rumors about Nanami's cooking.] OH, no you don't have to Nanami. That'd be a bit to much trouble, don't you think?
Nanami: You really want me to show up with just nothing?! After I got chocolate from you? That doesn't seem very fair..!
Lo Hak: Well, if you want, you can help out too. Sometimes my customers get messy and Ted isn't always around to help during the day.
Nanami: Ted? ... Maybe I can give this Ted guy a scolding for you!! *pumps fist* You know, set him straight! No one likes a truant!! *even though she's one, too*
Lo Hak: Oh, no, he has another job. He just comes to work when he's not working for Miss Mamie.
Nanami: ...Oh. *looks almost disappointed* Well, okay! If that's all it is, then I'd be happy to come visit sometimes!! *nods firmly at her new friend*
Lo Hak: I'd very much like it, Nanami. I could always use the company of a friend.
