Kylee is relatively new singer, with Japanese and American heritage. She's young (like 15!) but she has an extremely mature, strong voice that is gorgeous! And she also looks great in the cover, don't you think?
She's previously released songs for Xam'd: Lost Memories (VACANCY) which was used for the ending theme. She's also released a EP called Love Kicks. All songs released previously were entirely in English, and this single will mark her first Japanese debut. The title track, Kimi Ga Iru Kara is used for some drama, but I can't remember it from the top of my head.
Kimi Ga Iru Kara is a little different from her previous songs, taking a RnB/Rock/Ballad route. Oh yes, and another song title 'Kimi Ga Iru Kara' hmmm? Anyways, back to the point, I really like the song. The chorus is damn catchy and Kylee says 'Kimi Ga Iru Kara' a lot but that's why it's so memorable. When I first heard it, I found it a little strange hearing her sing in Japanese, but she seems not too bad at it. I wouldn't know, but she still sounds like her confident self. It's a very sincere song and Kylee does well with it.
The next song, On My Own starts with an energetic guitar riff and beat, which pumps throughout the song, pulsing with energy. Kylee's gone back to English. Her voice is extremely great in the track and love it so much!
She Wishes is also entirely in English. It's more laid back compared to the previous track and it's a little corny but you know, the good corny. LOL. It's a cute, heart-warming pop/rock song that can make you smile on a rainy day (like today for me).
Overall, not a bad Japanese debut, even though it was only the title song. But Kimi Ga Iru Kara is probably the best track in the entire single, and the two B-sides were so so. They were good, but could have been better. Still, I pulled my overall rating for it because of the title track ;)
Overall: 8.9/10
