The Darjeeling Limited

Following the death of their father, three brothers (Adrien Brody, Owen Wilson and Jason Schwartzman) embark on a journey on the cross-India train the Darjeeling Limited and attempt to reconnect after years of physical and emotional distance. The trip also opens up some old wounds and proves that their sibling rivalry can never be completely erased. Natalie Portman and Anjelica Huston co-star in Wes Anderson’s lyrical comic drama.

I liked it well enough, I plan on watching it again soon.

Becoming Jane

Famed romantic novelist Jane Austen has a personal life as dramatic as any of her fictional characters in this historical drama. Jane (Anne Hathaway) rejects the advice of her parents, who want to see her married to the nephew of a wealthy noble, and instead falls for dashing but poor Irish lawyer Tom Lefroy (James McAvoy). As sparks fly, both families intercede to head off the romance, but headstrong Jane will not be told what to do.

I really liked this film, I might buy it to go along with my period films collection. Anee Hathaway’s accent was just okay.

No Country for Old Men

A hunter (Josh Brolin) stumbles upon a dead body, $2 million and a stash of heroin in the woods. He absconds with the cash, but brutal thief Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem) comes looking for it, with a local sheriff (Tommy Lee Jones) on his trail. The roles of hunter and prey blur as the violent pursuits of money and justice collide. Joel and Ethan Coen direct this dark morality tale, which won four Oscars in 2008, including Best Picture.

Chris bought this when I was in Texas since we own all of the Coen brothers films. This movie is about so much more than what the synopsis above states. I don’t understand why people have to have movies wrapped up at the end with a bow, I thought the ending was fine.
