No-one mourns the Wicked?!? I bloody do!!
First time I've had the chance to come online since Saturday night, when I saw Idina's last 'WICKED'.
Have to say that at this time, and still now, I had a viral throat infection which was causing me to vomit constantly (even had to go outside in the intermission to be sick! lovely!)
But OMFG!! It was the best thing I have ever seen, and one of the most wonderful and memorable experiences of my life!! Idina was incredible, and the atomsphere undescribable. When Helen Dallimore as Glinda (who I have to say has improved so much since I saw her in September) came on at the beginning, there was such a massive applause, but nothing compared to when Idina ran out for the first time! Almost a standing ovation, and all she'd done was run a few metres!! The cast were definitely playing up to the audience, in particular the 'toss toss' by the three, the later by Adam Garcia as Fiyero made IDINA laugh, as well as just before 'One Short Day' - they laughed so much, Idina and Adam forgot their lines. It was just so cute!! And Helen gave a speech at the end which again was so cute; half expected Idina to say something, but she was a wreck, so I forgive her!!
The performance was fantastic though; 'The Wizard and I', 'Popular', 'Defying Gravity', 'As Long As You're Mine', and 'No Good Deed'. But nothing could prepare me for 'For Good'; Helen has started crying almost as soon as the song started and could only talk her way through it, and Idina was trying so hard to sing it, but had to talk along too at parts. But at the very end, when Elphaba says "I can never come back to Oz", Idina couldn't say it; her voice cracked and that had me in tears again. Cos she is never coming back to Oz!! So I'm so bloody glad that I saw her last performance!!

So yes, that was just supposed to be the start of my New year weekend in London, and what do I end up doing all New Years Eve?! Vomiting and sleeping!! I literally left the hotel room for 40 mins at 11.30pm, and we didn't see many fireworks (though on the tv they looked pretty), and I had to come back pretty much straight away to be sick again!! Lovely, I know!! Fucking waste of time and money, but what a time to be ill!! So not a good start to 2007 for me, but seeing as how I haven't also eaten for 4 days, I do seem to have lost some weight!
