in which we finally arrive
we drove past road where the b&b was. (because tori didn’t print out the directions) and drove into tofino. tried to jack a signal from a local coffee shop, wasn't connecting...found out the entire island had not internet. great lunch from said coffee shop (still no espresso for tori). found paper that had directions to the b&b (tori was not calling again).
drove around to kill some time...check in was at 2pm. found one of the local liquor stores for wine. found a bakery for some blue cheese dill bread.
found b&b...got unpacked, showered and took naps.
the cabin
here’s a close-up of that wall hanging.
walked to beach after a wonderful dinner of pasta, bread, salad and wine. took pictures and movies. inquired about this huge plant from the andes (something m. ricotta ?)
played games (hk uno which i kick tori's butt) played round-abouts. now time for bed....
day 2
woke up at the ass crack of dawn, and took a walk on the beach, since breakfast is not until 8 (we requested 7 and baku's reply was a very simple "that is out of the question"). we saw a bald eagle and found frank island and scored a sand dollar.
(there is a house hidden in this pic)
the guardian of frank island?
oh, and a dead sea lion
back to the cabin for a lovely breakfast, featuring apple pancake. the food was very yummy.
then we drove around town trying to find a signal, with success at last. we did a bit of shopping and located the place we'd have to go wednesday for our boat ride. tj bought me a beautiful necklace, we got a knife and some steak, post cards and a jacket for the boy.
here are some gratuitous arty shots
