a la snow
Winter Term is going to be amazing. I can already tell. Being back in my house is salve to my soul. There is nothing quite like the feeling of being able to do whatever you want for a whole month.
I was a little bit nervous about going back to the whole co-op thing, but so far it has been really really good. There are only about 10 people so far which means that we all sit at one really big table which is a lot of fun. I'm sure that once more people start coming things will get clique-ier, but for now it's just really refreshing to be eating/working with a big group where everyone just wants to be friends with everyone. I am not going to let myself get suckered into doing a position this time. I was in osca for a year and I never really learned how to cook. Well, osca cooking, which means for 60 people many of whom are vegan.
I also have so much stuff that I'm excited to read. I plan on scouring the graphic novels/comics, but I'm also getting really excited to do some serious English major type reading. There's the Proust, but there's also this new book out on the entire cultural history of modernism which I want to read (this sentence makes me realize there is a line at which you cross from being nerdy to being an elitist prick). And I want to borrow this book which one of my housemates was reading a trashy tell all about prep school kids being slutty.
I'm also going to try to convince the Cleveland Cinematheque to give me free tickets to give away on my radio show. Likely, since no one will be listening to it the said free tickets will go to me!
