So I noticed earlier this evening that my elbow started itching. After scratching at it for a couple minutes, I looked down carefully at it and spotted a fair sized lump from a mosquito bite. This had not been my first in the past few days, so I suspected a mosquito afoot.
Flash forward to a couple hours ago, when I decided to take a quick shower. I just get in, and notice some flying bug in the corner near the ceiling. I instantly think it's a mosquito, despite it's rather noticeably plump proportions. ...but not because I'd been thinking about my itch--by this time it was mostly gone. I have this strange irrational assumption that every flying bug that is not easily identified as another common bug, is ALWAYS a mosquito, and needs to be killed, lest it 'git me.
Looking around for something to smite the bug with, now in the shower, the best I could find was a shampoo bottle. After a short cat and mouse game, I got him. *buh dump pssshh* ...and boy, I smote him good!
After the obligatory look on the bottle to see the guts, and a quick rinse down the drain, I looked up and saw the remains on the wall. About 10 seconds later, I realize that was a rather large splat, and realized I'd have to clean that up. Then I thought "That splat was almost too big to be an actual bug splat.

I didn't even know mosquitoes had that much in them...
I should clean that off...
I commence scrubbing at it with my wet shampoo bottle.

I didn't know that their blood was red too... Hmmm.

or doesn't seem like you should be able to see that much mosquito blood--they're pretty small.
*GASP!*
Holy frijoles, thats MY blood!!
I figure, that damn bug bit my elbow, and made me itch. He sloshed around this apartment, full of my blood, and ended up in the bathroom. Hours later, I come in, and squash the same damn bug and his contents all over my bathroom wall.
Due to the scrubbing administered, the blood kind of got runny and lighter, as it mixed with the water. Oh well, you get the idea.
