so i knew yesterday was going to be the best day ever when i walked out to my car to find a note under my windshield wiper that said, "cheech, you rock!" and it had a bunch of hearts and 2 kisses on it. it got good when i ate a crazy meal next to members of reel big fish and mxpx. it got better when we played a set in front of upwards of somewhere around 3000 people. it was unreal how many people came over to watch our set. maybe 4 times the size of our bamboozle crowd, i don't even know. it was definetly the biggest crowd we've ever played to though.
i got an even better surprise this morning when i got an im from my buddy craig. apparently the guy from blender that interviewed me at bamboozle actually put awful waffle's name in the article. so if you manage to see a copy floating around, the new one with owen wilson on the cover, flip over to page 90 to check it out.
"But Bamboozle is teeming with bands that are bigger than their third-tier timeslots. Now that MySpace and PureVolume have made even the most unknown artists just a mouse-click away, it's as easy for a high-school ska-punk band like Awful Waffle to build word-of-mouth as it is for a major-label act like All-American Rejects."
so i guess in a roundabout way, they say we could be the next All American Rejects. whatever dude, pee wee is on and he's pogoing with the punk rockers.
