Can I just gloat for a minute about how I forsaw the return of brightly colored 80s/early 90s style toe shapes on low heels and flats? And how my entire collection of shoes with said toes, gathered (and worn!) seasons in advance, probably cost me less than one of the pairs being hawked at Nordstrom this week? If only I could predict the staying power of high belts, skinny jeans (please, please, please stay for a while. I like you.) and the increasingly blurry line between long hems and mini dresses. If I had to guess I would call them all flashes in the pan, but not without regret! Especially about the pants; yes, flared cuts balance figures. And sure, they minimize foot size. But do they fit gracefully into narrow boots? Do they roll easily into sexy narrow cuffs? I should say not. And anyway, they encourage misguided people to wear socks with flats.  This season has been so magnificently retro-modern, it's almost as if the worst of the 80s was redeemed before our eyes. Let's not allow an accomplishment like that go to waste.

Also: beaded mesh slippers. ahaahahahaahahahahahahahaah.

Also: Someone please tell me The Sun Also Rises gets better. I'm on page 73 and I don't think I'll last another 200 pages with these insufferable characters and the stupid things they say.  I must be missing something.
