Work and Writing and BBQ

Finished a craaazy week at work only to be reminded that BOTH of the co-workers I rely on for guidance and sharing workloads will be gone next week. Which is a 4 day week. Which means I have to assemble and post the 2 payrolls in 1 day. Not quite sure how I'll cope, but that's the fun of a challenge.

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7752743/19/Moving-Forward went up this week. I'm rather inordinately happy about that, especially since I'm already 2.3k into Chapter 20. Which might be the last chapter, or might suffer the indignity of being split into 2 sections for the sake of manageable length. It's not my fault, the characters just KEEP DOING EXTRA STUFF. Maybe a subconscious desire to keep writing indefinitely? Hope not, I've got other projects to be doing. I'd like to try my hand at original fiction at some point, and finish my Udacity classes and read some new books.

I went to a BBQ place that a co-worker recommended. Rarely is a restaurant so good it is worth signing up for their membership rewards card, but this one was. Meeting the owner, who was working the floor with the other waiters, was a very nice touch. I will go back there to try the maple-bacon-peanut butter sundae, if nothing else. Yum!

Aaand I got to play with an ipad 2 today. It was quite nifty, though I don't think I could ever really give up a desktop. It fills a currently unoccupied niche in my life, but do I really need another way to play mindless games and browse the internet? I should probably look into upgrading my 2008 dummy-phone first.
