hah, that's pretty funny. i think (or at least i tell myself) that everyone has some degree of neuroticism in them-- and i think everyone who reads this should list a couple, as you have and i'm about to. for me, i hate things incomplete. i personally wash off the shampoo before soaping, because it just feels unfinished and bugs the hell out of me unless it's done. this also goes for untied shoes, paintings (not that i do them, but rather i don't do paintings or anything really artistic unless i know i can finish it), etc. a good example of this is when i'd build plastic model cars - it would feel like if i just left the pieces to dry one at a time before gluing on the next one it would be incomplete, and therefore drive me crazy. so i'd just go through and do the whole thing in about 45 minutes. another example is AIM shorthand. seriously, it bugs me. why? because ur is not "you're" (and sure as hell isn't "your,") ttyl is not "talk to you later," and the one that pisses me off the most is "99." "99" is NOT, nor does it sound REMOTELY CLOSE to "nighty night." and even if it did, i'd prefer if you didn't say "nighty night" to me. i used to be anal about capitalization and punctuation and spelling, but i've lost the capitalization thing since noticing that when you type all in lowercase like this everything is more uniform and even. i will confess, though, that i did go back and put all the commas and periods before those quotes, as i originally typed them outside of them, knowing that it is improper punctuation. i could go on for hours about all the little crap that i "mind f===" too, which is what i hope everyone who reads these posts will say, because i've never seen it as not normal or unhealthy, but then again, i've never thought that some people maybe just don't have these strange hangups.

i like that quote though. i imagine it's the last paragraph in the book? and what about washing in the shower in alphabetical order, hair excluded, of course? that seems logical to me, and that way you wouldn't miss anything once you got the list solidified in your head. i might try that out. except then you'd have to wash your feet before your legs, ankles before feet, etc, which wouldn't be good because how could you wash your ankles, which is between your legs and feet, before either one of those? nevermind, scratch that idea. anyways, let's go get starbucks now.

that alphabetical thing might be a good idea if you want to defy alllll practicality. i mean, it seems like its goign way out of the way. but if you did get your order down it certainly would ensure not missing anything. hmm...well...i bet you would get it down so pat that you wouldnt even think of it alphabetically. probably just end up doing it habitually. and then you again might miss something and not know what you mmissed because your not paying attention to the alphabet, and youd have to just go through the whole routine again. but my real concern with that is, what body part names do you go by? do you use 'hand' or break it down to 'fingers'? do you do your 'head,' your 'hair,' or is it all separate from your scalp? this would have a big impact on ordering what you clean.
id personally call mine testicles because that way id only have to wash my toes after doing the dirty work. thats still gross though.
at least im not a hermaphrodite (spelling?) cuz then the whole vagina thing...that would never be totally clean.

and by the way, i liked proper punctuation at first in livejournals. but then i figured id have my own style quirks...so i never capitalize except for God and stuff like that. i think it looks pretty nice now. very uniform indeed
