[Those of you who know Kurapica only distantly may realize that for many of these plots concerning evil characters, he's been rather...isolated. He hasn't been conversing with so many people lately. First there was Lucifer making sins rampant, turning Kurapica's eyes scarlet as revenge for the slaughter of his clan pumped through him ceaselessly.

[Killua slowly, tiredly, walks around the corner, but he doesn't walk all the way to Kurapica, instead leaning against the wall to watch. He's uncharacteristically subdued, but that could just be because he's trying to listen for once.]

[For a moment, Kurapica really is unaware of Killua's presence behind him, but a few minutes after the prayer, Kurapica feels Killua's unmistakable Nen.

There's no point in keeping it a secret, anyway. Killua already knows the darkest parts of his past.]

It's a common prayer of the Kuruta.

[He doesn't move from his spot when Kurapica speaks up, but he does lift his head.]

...They could show up here, y'know.

[God, somehow that would be far worse than if things continued as they are now, and Kurapica knows it; he's just avoided thinking about it. He sinks his shovel again into the ground and chucks soil to the side.]

If that happened... [He lifts his head up momentarily to the sky.] ...I hope it never does.

[He's quiet for a second, blank expression not giving anything away. But then he nods and walks the rest of the way to Kurapica.]

Yeah, I figured. People rarely show up from back home anyway.

[He nods and bends down to clear more of the hole he made with his hands. For a pause, he doesn't talk, then...]

What happened during the mind-control? I assume those kidnapped were recovered.

[He's leaning over a bit, to keep watching, but not as much as Kurapica.]

Yeah. No problem.

[Killua allows for a short pause of his own.]

Severus organized the rescue mission.

[The answer surprises him enough to temporarily break his emofest.]

...He did? I have to admit I didn't expect that from him.

Didn't think you would. [That's almost a smirk there. Almost.] He had friends who were taken hostage though, so he had a reason to be there.

...I see. Yes, I can't see how he would take it upon himself to organize a rescue mission if there wasn't someone he wanted to save.

He probably wouldn't have. The only reason I went was 'cause he asked me to.
