It was ridiculous.
It was beyond ridiculous.
It was- it was stupid.
Rangiku hadn't even been sure how she was supposed to react to the news. Her captain, under arrest? Her Captain? Under arrest? He had been sick and out of the office, for Kami's sake, and what the hell did it mean, found with a full Hollow mask? The fact that he had attacked Gin; well, knowing her captain and knowing Gin, obviously Gin had done something, for it wasn't like Toushirou had suddenly had a personality change and should have been placed in the 11th Division. No, but Shuuhei's Hell Butterfly had just stated the facts. Someone from his division had arrested her captain! She'd make a mental note to tell this Sato person just what she thought of that (whether or not this Sato was doing their supposed job).
He was in solitary confinement, and Rangiku, his Lieutenant, had not even been able to see him. She had tried, oh she had tried, and until they had threatened to take action against her if she didn't comply. Of course, that had not left Rangiku in a very good mood, and she had spent the rest of the afternoon in the 10th Division, all but ignoring everyone. Her Captain! No reply had been sent back to Shuuhei, even just as acknowledgement of his message, but instead she had sat there, stunned, at her desk, torn between conflicting emotions. Obviously he was going to be all right, for he was Hitsugaya Toushirou, the grumpy little genius captain of the 10th.
Nursing a headache, and a mild case of intoxication, Rangiku finally left her office. The day was already at an end, with people returning to where they lived, but no, Rangiku wanted answers. She hadn’t bothered to send any sort of message stating that she was coming, and he might very well not be in, but she would simply cross that bridge when she got there. Her usually carefree steps were measured, controlled, and shinigami gave her a wide berth. While the details might not be common knowledge, some things likely could not be kept in check, especially when a Captain of the Gotei 13 ended up in the 4th.
Despite her initial reaction to just open the door to the 9th, or knock in a very firm fashion, Rangiku’s hand remained poised for a moment. It wasn’t Shuuhei who had done anything, merely sent out the message, though what was going on? Instead, it was a polite if restrained knock that Rangiku delivered to the door to his division.
