Speak when you are angry --

Jul 25, 2010 02:35

Characters: Keshet and Belial
Where: Eighth Circle Administrative, Belial's office
When: July 25, afternoon
Rating: PG, I should think
Summary: Paperwork mix-ups happen even in Hell. Belial and Keshet get off on the wrong foot.

Demeaning. That was what this was. Keshet stood straight-backed, with her chin high and the file folder neatly clutched against her stomach. Through unimpressed eyes, she watched the secretary as she informed the executive of the Eighth Circle of her presence.

Honestly, Keshet should not have been here in the first place. She did not work in the Eighth Circle and thus she had no reason to be handling any of its files. It was bad enough that she had to handle the files in the Fifth Circle; adding those from another just piled unnecessarily onto her workload. Couldn't people keep their files straight? What idiots.

Nevertheless, she had come upon the mix-up and her supervisor had ordered her to rectify the situation personally. As if she had nothing better to do than suffer the presence of the Eighth's executive.

She nodded curtly to the secretary when she indicated that it was proper to enter, casting a scornful eye over the woman's figure as she did so. Hmph. That was probably what got the woman this job in the first place. Keshet doubted -- even with a lack of evidence -- that she had come by it honestly.

She stepped into the office, her steps a little heavier than usual in her pique. She stopped and blinked at the sight before her -- at the fact that the executive seemed to be paying very little attention to his work while puffing on a cigarette. That was . . . No wonder this file had gotten mixed up within her Circle. Ugh.

"Do you think you could pay better attention to your work? It's a waste of my time to go tromping all over Dis just to make sure an imbecilic slacker like you has all his files in order. Can't you keep anything straight?"

keshet, belial, [hell]
