So... adapt already. It would work better if he could find the damned Plus hanging around here somewhere. Hitsugaya spun on his heel, brow furrowed and seeking out the source of the voice. Sometimes a familiar voice was fine and well. This time, he wasn't so sure. He sighed when he picked the form of Kurosaki Isshin out from among the branches of the tree. He crossed his arms, looked up over the hedge, and called, "what?"
He had a job to do; one that didn't include having to deal with The Idiot.

"Over here!" he repeated, though he didn't clarify. Would Hitsugaya just march on, grumpily unaware of the Plus, hurrying away from the dreaded Moron? What a shame if he did. Then Isshin would have to chase him down and hand off the Plus to him. He supposed he should be fair to the soul that was sitting at the base of the tree.
Isshin rummaged in the sack that held his lunch, taking out another well wrapped sandwich. "Here you go!" he called, dropping it into the lap of the Plus that was sitting on the ground beneath him. "Thought you might be hungry!"
Perhaps Hitsugaya was hungry too, and would chase after the sandwich. Well. Isshin took another bite of his own food. He couldn't see why anyone wouldn't want to, Yuzu was fantastic at making sandwiches!

Oh, no. No. He couldn't just be... sitting on the plus soul Hitsugaya was looking for. He closed his eyes for a moment and, after a moment, just groaned.
Of course.
It didn't take much to get over the hedge -- shunpo was really a wonderful thing -- and Hitsugaya slid to a stop, eyebrow raised and most definitely not starting to twitch.
He'd found the Plus soul, so therefore, this was a success.

Young, was he? The soul quailed a bit under his gaze and shrank back. Young he might be, but Hitsugaya could still send someone cowering with a look, should the need arise. This might not exactly be a need, but Hitsugaya couldn't really fault himself for it now. Maybe he did need the reassurance.
Especially after being called girly and short. Bad-tempered he really couldn't argue with.
He ignored the Plus for a moment and stared at Isshin. "Thanks for vouching for me," he said dryly. The soutaichou's son? Really? (Idly, a part of him wondered just what Ukitake would say to that one.) "Are you finished?"
