Last night was a great reminder of why I moved here. I met up with Natalie (yay! I love her!) and went to an art show, and then we hooked up with some of her friends to go to a party for the Obama speech. Yes friends, only in D.C. will you find several parties going on with a drinking game based off how often he says "change." He rocked the mother-fucking house. Guns blazing, he bent the Republican party over his knee and gave it to them! Bring it on, November!
On that note, I really have to talk about the big news of the day: McCain's VP pick - 1st term Alaska governor Sarah Palin. Palin? Just hand Obama the election why don't you. Give me a break! Does he really think that Hillary voters and the youth are blindly going to jump to his side because he picked a woman who's younger than his opponent? (That's right - she's 3 years younger than my guy) And McCain wants to talk about inexperience! This woman has been a governor less than two years, and before that her big resume booster was being mayor of Wasilla, AK. Well, la-dee-da! To top it all off, the woman who's been trying to cleanup Alaskan politics is in the middle of a nasty ethics scandal that involves her firing the public safety commissioner because he wouldn't fire a state trooper who also happened to be Palin's sister's ex-husband. Very ethical, lady, bravo!
If Obama's speech last night wasn't enough of a confidence booster, the GOP potential VP certainly is. I'm on cloud nine.
