This has made me laugh spontaneously ALL DAY. I'm a little behind on the gossip mill, but apparently this is very upsetting? To some people? I have no idea, really, but personally I find it hilarious. And you know why? Because it's BRENDON URIE of PANIC! AT THE DISCO. Honestly, I don't think it'd be even half as funny if it had been anyone else. Pete, perhaps, and possibly Gabe or the Hushies, but I think the fact that it's BRENDON URIE is solid gold. Honestly, ahahaha, poor lapsed Mormon baby. Such a dick.
And on a completely unrelated note (or perhaps not), why aren't there more pirate AUs in this fandom? Or in any of my fandoms? When I was still reading Buffy/Spike fic a lot I couldn't take two steps without stumbling over a "William the Bloody, the most fearsome pirate of all the seas, kidnaps young lady Elizabeth Summers, shenanigans ensue" story. Why doesn't this happen more often? It's like pure, undiluted crack from beginning to end!
I watched PotC 3 yesterday, and I may or may not have recast the nine pirate lords with bandomy people (Travis, Maja, William, Gabe, Pete, Ryan, Bert, Gerard, Bob Morris), and spent a very amusing hour thinking about the intrigue and feuds between them (captain Ross did a Barbossa on captain Wentz and then went on to steal Jon Walker from captain Beckett! Captain Wentz had a Thing with Captain Way's younger brother, which almost resulted in out and out war! Captains Way and McCracken had a Thing that did result in out and out war, when Frank Iero duelled McCracken and then almost got killed by Quinn Allman, and Bob Bryar had to put a bullet in Allman's shoulder to get Iero out of there! Or something!) It was late, IDK. Admit it, though. Pirates rule.
