UPDATE*
Just got back from the bar and the most awesome/kick-in-the-nuts moment ever. While over at the bar I was over heard bitching by a guy from the conference. Turned out it was by a Broadway-dance lighting designer. He gave me some advice and some biting remarks of what I should be doing. He wasn't so much telling me to get out of it while I could, but more of saying what I needed to do to take his job. At the end of the conversation he told me that what I should be doing is trying to knock him off his job because that is what he had to do to get where he is at today. He wished me luck and was off. It's awesome how this simple twist of faith made me challenge everything I think about myself as a designer, see my flaws and give me a ASS-TON of shit that I need/will be doing.
So cheers to simple twists of fate.
