Just when I thought payroll couldn't be any more obnoxious and unappealing to my body and soul, it came to me on the same day I start my period. I have not had this much trouble completing a task since, well, ever. Not only was the boredom pushing my attention span to the brink of obliteration. My cranky mood made me unreasonably frustrated.
At one point, I envisioned myself as a knight in fancy armor, and I was fighting a monstrous dragon made from time sheets. I told my best buddy, Joie about this via text. We transformed our workplace woes into epic battles. Utterances of Hit points, dragons, trolls, weapons phoenix downs, magic, save points and leving up clouded our minds with nerdy delight. Then she texted me this sketch from her boring office job:
Then she started to make a character for herself. I gave us the guild name Knights to Five, and she e-mailed me a rough draft for a story idea involving our characters fighting corporate office life, literally. I smell a comic book coming on...
Anyways, those time sheets pretty much killed my soul today, but one of the Make-up artists totally bought me a coffee and wrote it off in her expense reports. I love things that are extra free, meaning they are even more free than usual. Also, our adorable CEO (We'll call her Kawaii because she is do darn cute) almost bought me gas with her Costco card because she didn't want me to pay full price at a regular gas station. I didn't know where the closest Costco was, and we were both in a hurry. But she insists that I should use it next time.
