Ok, so I have this moral hypothetical and am curious what people think. There's no relevant real world context, so state whatever additional factors you're considering or want to consider in the response. So, here's the question:
Frequently as part of fund raising campaigns large donors will offer to match the donations of participants. Imagine, on a small scale, that I offer to match the donation that one individual makes to a charity up to 200 dollars. This individual then makes a 1 dollar donation, but, after some clever editing, sends me a copy of the donation receipt stating that he's donated 130 dollars. Where does this person's action fall on the moral spectrum? Does it matter if he has the money to donate or not?
I'm just curious what people think...right now my feeling is if I'm the scammed party it's immoral, and if I'm not, it's the moral equivalent of a clever resolution to a Saved By the Bell episode :-P
