[France runs out of his room to tell someone in the Pokemon Center. He doesn't know where Phoenix is because he only saw that part of Route 31 in 2D.]

[Phoenix didn't know his Pokégear was recording -- at France's voice, he's able to turn his head a bit to blink blearily at the camera. Oh.]

[As if he could, with all of the people shouting at him over the Pokégear. He can't help but chuckle a bit -- but chuckling only brings a fresh rivulet of pain coursing up from his stomach, and he groans, clutching at somewhere near his chest before flopping over onto his side completely.]

[Well isn't it just lucky for Phoenix that Touya's been backtracking for reasons of exploration, training, and avoiding Hiruma. Even luckier that he comes wandering out of the cave about ten minutes later.]

[He murmers something incoherant at Touya's words. Some part of his mind recognizes him as the voice that comforted him during his nightmare fiasco, and it soothes him enough that he's able to shiver less. Another, slightly more discernable response follows;]

[He gave Phoenix a quick once-over--there didn't seem to be any outward injuries, but he knew a case of poisoning when he saw it.]

[...what. At Touya's orders, he does still completely, but it takes him a few more moments to process the latter half of what he's saying.

He...really, he didn't see clearly. What he did see of the poison she'd given him, though, it was some kind of powder. So that would make it...]

[He can't get through the word before he begins hacking once more, clutching his forearms in an attempt to keep himself still.]

[Her voice, being far louder than France's, is able to momentarily snap him out of poison induced delirium.]

[He shifts a bit towards the camera, pausing due to another coughing fit. Another small glob of blood landing in his palm.]

[ this is about as horrified as Kay has ever looked, if Phoenix can even focus enough to notice this. For her part, she's just trying not to shake. ]

[He really wants to keep talking, he really, really does, but...he's finding it harder and harder to force the words out.]

K-ka-- [That's all he can manage before another bout of spasms seizes him, rendering the rest of his sentence into a pitiful whimper.]

[Honestly? Phoenix had been hoping that Maya wouldn't see him like this.

Her voice snaps him out of his haze enough for him to mouth her name, before the feed cuts off and he's left all by his lonesome once more.

...a soft whimper before he spasms with yet another painful fit of coughing.]

[At this point, it doesn't matter that he may be weak or injured or in a state that he didn't want her to see him in. The only thing that matters is his safety, which is why she's calling out his name as she races down Route 30]

[At her calls, he writhes a little bit, against Touya's orders to be still, and begins mouthing her name again. When he realizes no noise is coming out, however, he switches gears and whines softly, hoping she can hear it. He figures Touya can call her over, either way, but in any case.]

...Phoenix? [He gasps, then says again, much louder:] Phoenix!

[From the feminine voice off-screen, Merlin can pretty much guess what's happened. And he's furious.]

I'll contact Miles for you! Just--hang in there!

[The only acknowledgment Merlin will get is a weak nod. He's slipping out of
consciousness at this point, and he's still rather worryingly...still.]

[He chokes back frustration. He can't believe he's too far--much too far--from Violet to give Phoenix the help he needs, even after promising Miles he'd look out for him]
