College - Part 5

Mar 31, 2011 21:00

So here I am, at work on Saturday, 4:30pm... And it’s dragging stupidly, I was thinking of texting her, but I sort of don’t want to seem to eager she said that she would call me when I finish work and so I’m waiting, but that doesn’t stop me wanting to talk to her right now.

So I work in a bar in town, “The brick” as the locals call it.. And for some reason bussiness is really slow today, I think its because they have something going off in the square, not to sure tho, but oh well.. It means that there is nothing for me to do, only a few custermers who have been served all the glasses are clean the bar is wiped down, tables are clean, I just want today to hurry up. I look up at the clock.

4:31pm

Are you fucking kidding me??

“Go have a break girlie nothing much for you to do” becky said to me walking back behind the bar from the cellar

“Okay, I’ll go for a cig”

“Babe you may as well take an hour, just stay close and keep your phone at hand in case it gets busy or something yeah?”

“Sure, Cheers becks, cya in ‘bout an hour then chick” I said as I made my way out of the bar grabbing my jacket and bag sliding it over my head and onto my shoulder.

“Oh god it’s cold out here” I stated to myself as I did up my jacket and lit a cig, I started to walk down the street to find a little café that I usually go to, it’s hidden away and not many people know of this place I like how quiet it is.

“Heya jode you okay?”

I said as I entered the café and saw the familiar face behind the counter she started to make up my usual order.

“Hey Darling, I’m good, how you doing? You eating?”

“I’m good thanks, yeah just the usual today only got an hour, gunna get lost in my book I think” we both smiled at each other as she handed me my hot chocolate and then walked of to the kitchen to place my order.

I sat at my usual table the little two seater in the corner with a table, I put my drink down grabbed my book and started to read, I place my mobile of the table in case becky rang so I would see it straight away.

My food came I ate and continued to read “Jodie can I get a small coke please?” she nodded and I went to get up and grab it.

“Stay there I’ll bring it over”

She poured my drink and made her way over to me, I close my book and placed it on the table.

“What ya reading this time Webster?”

“Just some Photography book”

“Oh yeah the new course how’s it going”

“Well actually” I looked at her and then I fort of Sian and I smiled to myself “Really well” I giggled to myself.

“Tell all”

“Well I met somebody, at least I think so”

I said that trying not to get my on hopes up to much really but there you go.

“Details” she said taking a sip of my coke

“Her names Sian, she’s beautiful, I lose myself around her, and well there’s been some flirting, but I’m not sure, meeting her after work tonight”

“well get in there babe”

“We’re only ’hanging out’” I said looking a little disappointed

“right tell me everything one sec..” she turned her attention to the lad behind the counter “Dave I’m taking my break, two cokes over here and put ‘em on my tab”

We sat talk for a good 20 minutes and I told her everything the looks the flirting the night before, she was a good friend and I needed some advise before I knew it, it was 5:25pm and I had to make my way back to the bar.

“Right I must go, work calls and all that, will £20 cover it?”

“Nah It’s on me, and I will see you later, text me yeah, cya darlin’”

“Thanks Jo, cya soon” with that I smiled at her and gathered my things and when back to the bar, when I got there it was just as dead as before.

“Hey becks, how’s it been”

“Slow really but should pick up soon”

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5:59pm

That half an hour went a lot quicker than it seemed the bar was just starting to pick up and I felt bad to leave becky so I fort I’d offer my services been as the lad who usually takes over hadn’t turned up yet.

“Want me to stay until Zach gets here?”

“Yeah that would be per- ahh speak of the devil, your free to go sophie, can I keep you on call for tomorrow, never know how Sunday’s are anymore”

“Yeah sure, if not see you Wednesday”

“bye” we said in unison

“Bye Zach”

“Cya” he mumbled as I walked passed him
I stepped outside of the bar and lit a cig, and I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket I immediately smiled when I took out my phone and saw ‘Sian’ flash on the screen

“Well right on time, punctuality I like that about a girl”

Hello confidence where did you come from, I don’t what it is about her she just brings it out in me, and I think that it helps that I had that chat with Jodie earlier she certainly made me see that this isn’t all in my head even with the doubts I had, I’m pretty sure that she likes me just as much as I like her. Only one way to find out ayy.

“I was always told never to keep a good woman waiting”

“good woman ayy?”

I giggled into the phone, hoping she wouldn’t leave me hanging

“Yes good woman” she giggled to and then finished of her sentence “So miss Webster, what’s the plan for this eve and what time we meeting”

I blew out the smoke I had just inhaled and got ready to tell her “well I should probs go home and get changed given the work attire an-”

“I don’t know I think you look pretty hot in your uniform”

“W-what”

I was totally caught off guard as she tapped me on my shoulder

Well that was unexpected *jaw drop*
