Really, no April Fool's joke. This could be the end. I actually have part of another chapter written (actually written last summer before my old computer died, taking most of the ending I had planned with it). But for those of you who are ready for this epic to be over, feel free to read it as complete. I may add more to the story--at least finish

My apologies for cruising through, but the date didn't really register or I would have been awaiting and prepared. Now I'm between Iraq and a hot place with commenting quickly, or not being able to honor you with my oh-so thought-provoking semi-thoughts for a few days. Decisions, decisions... (sort of like your three letters at the end of maybe a possible end)
Would I be way off base to read anything into Lucy's required presence as part of a pending flight and field trip to finally remove Ryan from the clutches of the evil Dr. Killer? Power of suggestion? I'll take it as a gift of some kind if you wouldn't mind.
You've used yet more wonderful, vivid, sensory imagery here, and often at the least obvious times, ranging from doors closing with a "whisper" to the most subtle nuances heightening very silent moments in very meaningful ways. In keeping with Ryan's M.O., so much comes down to the non-verbal with very telling expressions, and the power of visual communication along with touch- however carefully calculated despite appearances.
My vote would always be for more, but I can see where this story could go on a whole new tangent with the immediate steps that would be necessary just in the most practical sense. You could feasibly milk this for months to help poor Humpty Ryan with any reassembly. If that's not part of the bigger picture you ever envisioned, it's all about your vision- and what you can even handle. No matter what, please know how much we've had reason to anticipate the beginning/end/whatever of each month to continue this journey with you. Who knew Cozumel could have so much mileage, and not just the emotional kind?
Whichever fork in the road you may choose, thank you!

As I read your first sentences (following the "gratuity exchange"), I hope it's not even hinting at any sort of "retirement," but I wouldn't see how being "a glutton for punishment" would apply. I certainly do hope you continue to write when time and muses and life in general may allow, so if you're looking for a ready platform with an existing story and specific relationships at one juncture currently in progress, you have it with your "100 years+" saga.
I will take Lucy's continued role (should she have the opportunity to fly the Killer coop and live on at your bidding), or at least the necessity for her to have had one, as a concession to my oh-so-subtle requests. Pleas? Please pleas?
You're quite generous to refer to "every word" of what had to be wordy feedback way too often, but I know that you invested substantial time, energy, thought and consideration into your writing (or have access to magical powers which you use for good and not evil) and have been (and I hope will continue to be) gracious enough to share that part of yourself with us. When you give so much, I can most certainly give something in return.
I hope that you and yours had a happy, relaxing Easter. Good luck heading into the 4th quarter, final innings, or last stretch of the school year. Yes, the light is shining, but getting there is never easy! I don't know if I should make an LJ appearance to check for anything at the end of April, but we'll see if I'm feeling lucky.
Thanks again!
