Best Forgotten, Part 34. (It only feels like Part 340)

Jan 31, 2012 17:17

I'm trying to hard to finish this story but it's coming in dribs and drabs now (mostly drabs.) In any case, here's January's installment for anybody still interested.

Disclaimer: You know, the standard stuff. Characters (well, the central ones) still not mine, errors (well, all of them) still mine alone.

Sandy pulled her close, stroking her hair, murmuring hushed endearments. He never looked at his wife though. All the while he gazed past her, staring in consternation at the back of Ryan’s head. very vivid picture of trying to fill competing needs.

I like Seth's argument, how Ryan is so far from himself he doesn't know what he is doing

Lucy watched for a welcome wash of relief to clear his face, but none did. The shadows clouding it simply changed, from bleached gray to the shade of abandoned ash. sad content, but lovely flow of words

Lucy is clever, appealing to Ryan to help Kirsten, clever to be completely truthful, clever to see the similarities that go beyond the chance physical resemblance

I just remembered the date and came to look and yay, you'd posted, many thanks x

Not to hijack, but I haven't seen you in... forever. I did find your fic, or stumbled on it giving someone a link a month or so ago, so I've thought of you. I hope all is well!

Hey :) Nice to see you! I'm more of a lurker these days but I think of everyone often. LJ has changed so much as well- so much blue!! I hope everything's good with you!

I hear you. I'm a lurker as well, for a number of reasons. As for LJ changing, that's no understatement. Much has changed, including the overall atmosphere. Many more "chiefs" and not so many "Indians" in the mix- hence the lurking, even if RL didn't dictate terms too.

I'm glad to "see" you!

I'm driving by, but I couldn't resist reading (when I should be prepping for more an early, early, early meeting). I'd almost forgotten it was THAT time again. Part 340? Really? Who's counting ( ... )

Every time I write the Kirsten-Ryan relationship I think of you, beach. Of course this isn't canon!Kirsten, but like you I wish we'd seen her like this more on the show. There were glimpses, but sadly that's often all that we got.

Anyway thank you so much for "eloquent and descriptive prose"--such a lovely compliment! I'll try to live up to it in the next chapter. (February though--a short month! Must get to work . . .)

There were those words again-“your mother.”

(They wafted over Ryan, warm and lilting, softly compelling and confident.) I did the same as fred and came to check it out. The lines I've bracketed are heart wringing and beautiful. They are a testament to a wonderful fic!!

You my young lady are an awesome writer!!
You're a little 'belter' Chaz....*big hugs*
