It's been awhile since I've been on this again (besides the occasional comment or two). So many things have been going on that my mind is about to explode.
I just got back my differential equations and thermodynamics tests back and they were right where I thought they would be. I still have not received my statics test back and it's been almost a week (the test was only two problems). Now with my grades about 1/3 through the year, it's time for me to step it up. Lets just say I'm doing much better than last semester...but I could do more.
It's so nice now working back at Ragazzi's. It's like ever since I left Ruth's Chris, I've felt like a great deal of stress has been lifted off my shoulders. I think it was from the idea in the back of my head that I needed to impress everyone there so not only things would flow more smoothly, but also so my managers would take it easy. Now, since everyone there knows me, I have nothing to prove to anyone; plus the nights just seem to go much more easier because I enjoy the interaction with people more than just running around...I guess. The cool thing is that Travis (my old general manager) said if I needed to pick up any shifts now or over the summer I can, which I asked if I still could get the 50% discount there and he said that I could...which may come in handy down the road.
The season has ended for my basketball team. We finished 1-11 and we did not finish in last place. I saw the standings and I saw the only team that was win-less (0-12) this year was the tar heels...I laughed. The playoffs start Thursday and I have a game then at 7:00pm at Herb Young Community Center. The tournament is single elimination so as long as we can win, we can go far. Now it seems we have a better chance because for the first time ALL season, I now have a full roster of kids. It took the town the entire season to get me two guys and they are good. The only thing I wish was that I had these guys much, much earlier. I found this kind of humorous when I found out that the team I am facing against in the tournament is coached by my friend, David Buchnnan. We laughed about this during the draft in the pre-season. I told him "you watch, we may not play each other during the season, but I bet we face off in the tournament." It looks like I'll be taking this game more seriously because I know if I lose, he will not let me hear the end of it haha.
I just turned in my copy of my new lease. So I'll be leaving in my current apartment until July 31st of '08 now with the same roommates. We've got so much junk and heavy stuff that just staying put made so much sense. I've got my brother looking at my apt complex as well. It's funny that no matter where I go, he seems to end up following my footsteps (not exactly thank god) lol; so we will see how that turns out.
I cannot wait until spring break kicks in. I'm off to NY for the week and it's going to be great. I haven't decided exactly to drive the entire way on the 4th or drive up the 3rd and sleep at my friend's house in Maryland that night, then finish the trip the next morning. Their house is pretty much the midpoint of the trip. I should be back by the 10th (sat.). I mentioned to my little cousins about the trip and Jeannie just freaked out. She always tells her friends about me and how she always misses us; what she doesn't know is that I didn't tell her for sure that I am coming and that when I do, I'm going to pick her and my other cousin Tyler up from their school as a surprise. We'll probably end up going into the city at least two or three times, probably visit my older cousin Mikey at his work in Central Park, but really we are going to do whatever we feel like. I just got an e-mail from my Aunt that Mike and his girlfriend Christina are now engaged. Everyone in the family basically knew this was going to happen, we were just waiting for that day.
Question:
Should I walk into Chapel Hill with my State stuff on for tomorrow's game? I mean I've got a great feeling we will win again, but I'm just not sure. Walking down Franklin St. with state red is really going to make me a target for everyone on that campus (before and/or after the game) but I support my team no matter what. I think it's going to be another great game, with both teams coming off great games, no matter the outcome.
Alright I think I just bored the hell out of you; so I'll just end it. If you do not have any plans on Thursday, you should come out to my game (hopefully it will not be my last). I could use the extra fan support lol.
