Lost in Thought
I have been talking to a co-worker this morning about the closing of RENT on Broadway. It closed a week or so ago. Its hard to believe it ran for 12 years and is still out touring. I say its hard to believe but the musical was very powerful on so many levels. I can remember seeing the show, first on Broadway and again on tour in Atlanta. I don't think there have been many plays that I've seen that the audience connects so strongly with. As I think about it I remember a line that just sticks in my craw causing me to be lost in thought this morning:
"There's only now. There only here. Give in to love, or live in fear. No other path, no other way. No day but today."
