Home for break. It's been much better than expected. I brewed a batch of beer with my dad on thursday night, which turned out well. He's been brewing for several years and is overall really good at it, but I don't think he experiments very much. The recipe I was using was a heavily-spiced winter ale (threw all sorts of good fresh stuff into it... vanilla beans, nutmeg, cloves, orange zest) and it smelled wicked good. He said he'd never smelled anything like it. Should be ready in time for Thanksgiving so I look forward to it.
In other news, we had a long talk this afternoon about post-college plans. I told him that I have an endo lined up and I plan to start T within a few months of graduation. He explained his objections, again, and I appreciate the honesty. But I told him that I'm not asking him for permission, I'm telling him what's going to happen, and I think they're both finally coming to terms with that. I don't mean to sound so impatient with them. But I've been talking to dad about this for 4 years, and mom for 7 years, and we're finally getting to the point where they've stopped yelling at me every time it's brought up. So goes progress.
Talked to mom separately about changing my name. My girlfriend was right about taking the job/interview slant, it definitely helped. I told her that I'd like their input on names, and she immediately gave me a middle name that she'd picked out already. So, that was encouraging.
