Wales Tour 2013 - Day Two & Four

Jul 15, 2013 20:31

Hi, me again! :D

I'll put day 2 & 4 (8th & 10th July) into this post as there're both not that image heavy (day 3 will be much "worse" :P).

On day 2 we went to St. Donat's Bay, Dunraven Bay and Margam Country Park (btw. I'll probably do a "Da Vinci's Demons" post, too, as it's filmed in Margam Country Park, but I need to re-watch the episodes ( Read more... )

I was also cursing the barrier at Margam! Did you get to see the sets there? Or them filming?

I meant Davinci Demons sets/filming.

Hehe, I know exactly what you meant... ^^

I also saw the sets inside the Castle. You know, that staircase and that wooden scaffold. Was there anything else? I've to admit we were pretty late, so we only had half an hour to do the ruin and the castle, but nothing more. :(

We asked when they would be filming again, unfortunately I missed them by a week, they started filming there again today! :( They're gonna film there this whole week... damn! *lol* The only consolation is that we wouldn't have been able to see anything anyway as they're supposed to film in the evening and straight through the night.

There was the stairway, the scaffolding, the bed chamber and the workshop where they were making some of the props. We were not allowed to take any pictures of the sets upstairs although the guards took us through them all. I saw them filming last year but had no idea st the time what the show was about other than the name.

Thanks for taking the time to post all those - I've got to say, this is giving me some ideas for my next weekend trip, the landscape looks lovely, even without the location bonus - particularly the costal bit. You got very lucky with the weather, too! Didn't know DaVinci's Demons was also filmed in the UK - I'm still stuck on ep 1 (not enough time in the day) - I need to get back onto that.....

Dunraven Bay wasn't too exciting for me, too many people, but St. Donat's Bay is amazing! But don't be fooled, it's quite dangerous walking around those cliffs, I'd recommend sturdy shoes! :D And we were not only lucky because of the weather (which was fab), but also because it was low tide, when we went there, as we hadn't paid attention to this detail at all. *lol*

Da Vinci's Demons has its studios in Swansea, Wales, but they film bits and pieces in the surrounding area, too.
