I met a customer several days ago and can't get her stupid question out of my head: "Why have two phone lines?"
The woman asked me if she could host two numbers in one iPhone, one for her "work" number and one for her personal number.
I told her that if I were here what I'd do is forward one of the two numbers to the iPhone(/other number), so that either number would ring in the one phone-- which, in case you need it pointed out to you, is quite similar to having two numbers inherently "in" the phone.
Her husband agreed heartily with my plan. "Yeah, honey, you could do that!" She, however, looked at me with a touch of disgust, asking, as if I were stupid, "What's the point of having two lines, then?"
I can't stop thinking of her question; the stupidity of her line of thinking fascinates me. Ever since she asked I've wanted to retort, "You tell me! You're the one with two lines!"

I want to point out to her that whether her two numbers ring in two different phones or in one phone with two lines or one that rings for two lines, she's still getting all her calls from two different numbers in one place.
