My s'mores were not as big of a hit at the office as I had expected. If you were sitting around in stuffy cubicles and quietly eating your lunch and then somebody like me busted out some graham crackers, hershey bars, and 'mallows, WOULD YOU NOT GET HYPED ABOUT IT? Who are these jerks? Or maybe I just misjudged the universality of s'mores appeal? UNLIKELY.
So I went grocery shopping and also picked up a cookie sheet and a frying pan, so now I can reheat pizza, grill cheese sandwiches, and ruin perfectly good cookie dough. ALSO, I picked up an exact replica of my favorite glass from back home so I can stop mixing rum and coke in my complimentary Fieldcrest Apartments mug. Additionally, I consumed the Eighth season of Seinfeld on DVD this weekend, leveled up considerably, and watched Captain Ginyu accidentally trade bodies with a frog. It was an excellent weekend.
Another good thing about this weekend is that I felt the impulse to do something productive. Though it is not uncommon for me to feel lame about not being productive, the interest in correcting it is a fairly rare impulse for me to have down here in Dothan, or at least it has been up until now. To be fair, I should admit that the impulse was not followed by the motivation to be productive, and so when I stop and think about it, productive actions were not themselves performed, but, you know, baby steps. I was able to find new ways to get food to put in my mouth, and that itself feels like an accomplishment. I further verified my established theory that making your own food saves neither time nor money (at least in solo applications), but you still feel like you made a good decision by doing it. A very wise man once observed that it is better to make regular oatmeal rather than make instant oatmeal and then do nothing for an hour.
On the subject of doing nothing, I'm in the middle of something of a drought of work at the plant. I'm waiting to turn in a couple projects until a couple of the folks working parallel to me are finished with their parts. A fellow here did say something about how much more free time I should expect to have once I'm done with college. It went something like: "I know they say that college is the best years of your life, but those people were business majors." My apologies to anyone I may have offended, but I thought that was amusing.
Should I go see Fantastic 4 this weekend? Things to consider:
-the first one was REALLY bad
-there's no reason to believe this one will be as good
-Lawrence Fishburne is the voice of the Silver Surfer
....
yeah, might have to go see that.
