I spent the better part of three hours on Sunday installing Cygwin/X on my home Windows box just so I could use Quanta+ instead of Dreamweaver, and ssh from the commandline without using PuTTY.  Why not just migrate to Solaris or FreeBSD?  The wife uses the computer too.  Why not partition and dual-boot?  Too lazy.

As if using Cygwin to shoehorn a Linux/XWindows environment into Windows was any easier.
