Execution of the Unfaithful

Speaking of music, it seems the DJs at Chiang Mai's only English radio station seem to have become enamored of Rihanna and her "new" hit song Unfaithful, and have been playing it at least once a day since the new year began. For those of you who haven't been "blessed" enough to hear the song, Rihanna sings in a whiny voice about being in a current relationship, but being happier with another man she sees on the side. And so she feels bad about hurting her loyal boyfriend while messing around, and apparently living with him! In the chorus she says things like, "I don't wanna do this anymore," and "Every time I walk out the door, I see him die a little more inside," and "I don't wanna be a murderer". OK, we're supposed to feel sorry for the cheater? "Oh, poor me! I'm messing around on my boyfriend and I feel bad. Not really because what I'm doing is wrong, but because he found out and it's making him feel like shit to know what I'm doing." People like this really make me want to vomit.
