Celtic Sun, art by
Steve O'Loughlin I love Midsummer almost as much as Beltaine. Spring flowers have given way to summer flowers. The first fruits are being harvested (oh, the strawberries fresh from my garden!). The days are long; twilight lingers past 10 pm. Our nine months of rainy weather give way to sunshine. It's time for barbecues and watching the sun set over the Olympics.
At this time, I honor the Baltic sun goddess Saule, who has a special place in my heart. She dances on midsummer morning with a crown of red roses. She spins the suns rays into light. She watches over all.
