My first term of grad school is over. It's hard to believe, harder to describe. I can't even begin to describe all the things that happened, even though I kind of wish I could make this nice little wrap-up entry with a bunch of memories.
An amusing thing yesterday: I found out that James Franco has a guest role on General Hospital for a bit, so I had to go look it up online. He's so good-looking. :D He's actually playing a really creepy part: this artist who's obsessed with death and is probably a killer himself. But he's got the dark brooding thing going on, plus he's an ass, so doubly hot, and James Franco, so triply hot. Um. Yeah. My dad thinks I'm a little nuts, but--it's JAMES FRACO, damnit.
Tried out that forks/cereal wordplay trick on him today, but it totally failed thanks to his odd thought processes.
ME: Say fort three times.
DAD: Fort, fort, fort.
ME: Now spell it two times.
DAD: F-o-r-t, f-o-r-t.
ME: Now say it five times.
DAD: Fort, fort, fort, fort, fort.
ME: Now spell it twice.
DAD: F-o-r-t, f-o-r-t.
ME: Now what do you eat cereal with?
DAD: ...Milk?
::sigh:: Okay, FINE, Daddy, be that way! ;)
Tomorrow's our family Christmas on my dad's side, so there'll be lots of cleaning. I've got some other stuff I need to remember to do over the break, too. Still haven't turned in my class evalutation for workshop (must do that tonight), and need to finish Tartuffe and start translation. Think I'll try a different approach this time. What will my workshop think? I'm going totally extremist this time.
Also need to do a new inventory of our DVD collection, but that should probably wait till after Christmas as I suspect some films are on the way. I'm crossinf my fingers for HP6 and What Happens in Vegas. (Never thought Ashton Kutcher could win me over, but this was a good one.)
The movers have just left with the piano. Goodbye, piano. :( Someday I'll get a chance to take piano lessons again. But I've realized, sadly, that I don't have pianists' hands. I can hardly span seven keys, and I can only touch the keys on an octave. I could never play them. I was playing a piece one time that had you go up the piano playing an octave, and I realized it was physically impossible for me to play that piece. So it was kind of depressing. But I still love listening to piano music.
The Christmas specials are all going to be starting soon. Haven't seen any ads for Rudolph yet, though. I watched Charlie Brown the other night, and caught part of It's a Wonderful Life. But no sign of Frosty or Rudolph, my two favorite Christmas shows. Maybe IMDb will have listings.
Should get going now. Happy holidays to all!
