(no subject)
So sad- everything is up and down lately. My friend Mariama's dad has mroe tumors found in his head this time, and one of the nice elderly park people passed away on Thursday. The man had a stroke just a few minutes after I whizzed past him running last Wednesday. He clunked his head on the sidewalk, and the next day he died. So sad. The other "Park People" are having a memorial for him Thursday am but I will miss it due to my CAD project being due. I have been thankfully sheltered from death )for the msot aprt) in my life, but it is a very bizarre and cruel awakening soedays when it comes closer to you. As much as I rationalize that it is the natural way of the universe....at least we have a nice long time in our lives (that we hope anyway). Really seems like forever since I was a kid even.
Other than other depressing family illness news, at least I have been trying to enjoy a social life lately.
We had a wine tasting at our house a few weeks back, and I made an awesome dpread of food. Maybe one day I'll remember to post pictures- this food was very pretty. It has been so dry here lately I zapped out my MP3 player 20 times in a row that night. I hope it doesn't lessen the life of the battery....oops. And we were in the throes of a Spinal Tap singalong at that point.
Good Night and Good Luck and Capote are just awesome movies- finally some decent films that aren't loaded with the next 18 yera olf starlet, shitty unoriginal script and schmaltzy music. If these films don't win oscars (like that means anything anymore!) then things have gone totally awry (I know they already have!).
