long short day
I got absolutely NOTHING done today. No housework, no studying. I feel like I spent the entire day negotiating every single minute with Jude. And then Lucy woke from a much too short nap and screamed for 45 min straight. I'm SO tired!
I did get to the feed store - we are getting a rabbit and hopefully some chickens this spring. The rabbit comes home on Tuesday afternoon, so I got hay, salt lick and rabbit pellets. I also got Soren a membership in abra.net - the rabbit breeding organization. What was funny to me was that when I went to their site, one of the first things I saw was an ad for 1000 ways to cook a rabbit ;).
the girls are joining 4H next year and Soren likes rabbits so this will probably be our project, although i'd like to have no more than a dozen bunnies ever. Our new-ish friends have a small goat farm going, so we're learning a lot. Jude is loving horses, so I'm thinking maybe we can do some horse project for him for 4H when he is older and maybe ((Tom will say no, so don't ask) we can buy an older retired horse and stable him at our friend's farm. That's what they did for their daughter and Jude is infatuated with the animal and ANY horse that he sees.
The feed store was an experience all by itself, as was driving home with a bale of hay in my trunk. I am truly feeling like a country girl lately!
