well, I can complain all I want about Tom, but he is still a romantic. Despite the snow, he brought me home a rose last night, I found a lovely card on my keyboard this morning, and he requested a song for me on the radio:
Artist/Band: Prine John
Lyrics for Song: In Spite of Ourselves
Lyrics for Album: In Spite Of Ourselves
( Iris Dement )
She don't like her eggs all runny
She thinks crossin' her legs is funny
She looks down her nose at money
She gets it on like the Easter Bunny
She's my baby I'm her honey
I'm never gonna let her go
He ain't got laid in a month of Sundays
I caught him once and he was sniffin' my undies
He ain't too sharp but he gets things done
Drinks his beer like it's oxygen
He's my baby
And I'm his honey
Never gonna let him go
In spite of ourselves
We'll end up a'sittin' on a rainbow
Against all odds
Honey, we're the big door prize
We're gonna spite our noses
Right off of our faces
There won't be nothin' but big old hearts
Dancin' in our eyes.
She thinks all my jokes are corny
Convict movies make her horny
She likes ketchup on her scrambled eggs
Swears like a sailor when shaves her legs
She takes a lickin'
And keeps on tickin'
I'm never gonna let her go.
He's got more balls than a big brass monkey
He's a wacked out werido and a lovebug junkie
Sly as a fox and crazy as a loon
Payday comes and he's howlin' at the moon
He's my baby I don't mean maybe
Never gonna let him go
In spite of ourselves
We'll end up a'sittin' on a rainbow
Against all odds
Honey, we're the big door prize
We're gonna spite our noses
Right off of our faces
There won't be nothin' but big old hearts
Dancin' in our eyes.
There won't be nothin' but big old hearts
Dancin' in our eyes.
(spoken) In spite of ourselves
Too funny! That is so us in a lot of ways :)
We had another rough night. Jude was up with bad cold most of the night (tom eventually got up and took him to another room). I woke up this morning, sat down to check the cancellations and started another bad nosebleed. It took an hour and a half to get it stopped this time. Tom finally called the doctor and they want to see me soon.
What a PITA. I don't know what's wrong with me! We've got the humidifier running at top volume in here day and night and I'm in the bedroom/office to sleep and work. The humidity is up around 40% too. I don't wanna go to the doctor!
I'll probably wait and talk to her about it at Lucy's well baby checkup at the end of the month, unless I have another one before that. It looks like it's a sensitive blood vessel and getting it cauterized does not sound in the least bit appealing. Nor does just the exam itself.
I lost enough blood to feel faint and yucky with a bad headache now. My teeth hurt too; probably from backed up clots in my sinuses. It was pretty scary actually.
Anyway, lots of snow here; we've probably gout at least 7 or 8 inches now, with forecast of another 7 or so. Good snowman building stuff if it warms up enough to go play. It's only 16F now; too cold. And Jude has that bad cold so I don't want him outside playing today :(. Poor tot, Tom is worried he might be getting asthma. He doesn't sound wheezy to me though. Just very congested with a runny nose and a yucky cough. I gave him some meds to loosen up his chest. He's clingy and sad and wants to nurse a lot and doesn't want me to hold Lucy, which is a bit of a challenge.
I have to go pick up Emma at Camp Arrowhead at 2 - I'll probably give myself an hour to get there. The homeschoolers didn't wimp out on their snow survival workshop - perfect weather for it! But I'm not looking forward to the drive and then the drive to gymnastics. We're having V Day dinner at my MILs though, so I'd be heading out there anyway.
OK, enough blather. Must go switch the laundry while Jude is watching Land Before Time and Lucy is napping in the swing.
