I usually don't do this sort of thing, but I am a fan of
Deanna Durbin who recently passed away.
Miss Durbin was the sole support of Universal Studios in the 1930s and 1940s. For several years in the 1940s, only Bette Davis was a higher paid and bigger box office star than she. Oh the 1920-40s, when women stars ruled the box office!
Here is a very good obituary for Miss Durbin. In the comments are some links to some of her movies. I might post some reviews on them in the next month as part of my wake for Miss Durbin.

Mr. Welling is in black plaid and has shorn his hair, as the Ancient Greek Gods were wont to do in mourning. He too will miss Miss Durbin.
Either that or he is now Bizarro Tom Welling or as he would say, "Mot GinLeWl".
