The Subject Was Movies: Priceless

I was watching Priceless to improve my French comprehension, when I had an epiphany.

Actually, I had several Epiphanies, when they come, they come in multiples---rather like orgasms.

1. The French are now making Hollywood movies. See The Artist as further proof of this revelation.
2. Rom Coms are proof of the Idiocy of Love. Why else would a supposedly Sane person run off with a Liar?
3. Shakespeare wrote the best Rom Com ever, see Much Ado About Nothing. And that is what a Rom Com is. And by the way, why would Hero ever trust or want Claudio after what he puts her through? I mean, part of the Rough Course of True Love is a guy who doesn't trust his lover? Nope. Benedick and Beatrice, I get. Hero and Claudio, I don't understand unless it is Masochist Meet Sadist, Happy Forever!
4. Shakespeare also wrote a crappy Rom Com or two. Comedy of Errors, really, you have to announce in the title that your play is a "comedy"? The audience is not going to figure that out by themselves? The jokes are so lame that you have to set up your laugh track to encourage the proper reaction? Even Shakespeare had his low moments.

I say that we need a re-make of A Summer Place right now. Chris Evans can play the Troy Donahue part, but this time, NO BEACH SHIRT on the Beach.
