"Don't feel sorry for yourself," he said. "Only assholes do that."

I finished Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami today.
Quite a bit different from his other novels, didn't get as weird or "supernatural"-ish as his other stories. Still just as...sad, I suppose. His books have a way of ending that you can tell is not going to necessarily be an outright happy one, but, they leave you optimistic. That things may get better, or may be starting on the path to recovery. Maybe I'm just interpreting them that way because I want them to have a happier ending.

I think I'll re-read Ender's Game. I need a break from Murakami for awhile. Afterwards I'll go find another more literature-type book, maybe re-read The Catcher in the Rye.

LETS TALK VIDEOGAMES
I picked up the OPM with the MGS3 demo disc in it. Here is a recap:
The MGS3 Demo is short. Too short. Replacing the rations with the food/survival system is interesting. Don't care for the Standing/Kneeling/Prone cycle. Just not used to it, I suppose.
Tak 2: Lame platformer. Textures are nice though. Looks like they ripped of Rayman.
Ratchet and Clank 3: More boring platform action. With weapons! Textures/environment looks too sterile. Where is the heart/soul?
Neo Contra: I don't really care for the controls.

I have preordered Ace Combat 5, anxiously awaiting it.

Going back to the platformer complaints. One thing I really enjoyed about Ico was that I wasn't supposed to "collect" anything. Anything you needed to solve the puzzles were either in the same room, or close enough you weren't forced to backtrack.

And I have to pay the price to go on living.
