I have been down that "poor me" road and it sucks. Not just for the person mired in self-pity, but for all his/her friends and loved ones as well. I find that it just results in a downward spiral, finally leading to complete chaos. As much as I might like to, I can't be there all the time for everyone. I've tried to be completely honest with others and yet I find that I still disappoint them. Well, screw it. The one person I haven't been faithful to is me. It's now MY turn to be considered first. Feel hurt? Slighted? Get over it...and yourself.
