Путь в мейнстрим
В январе этого года экофашистмарксист по имени Andreas Malm (шведский университетский преподаватель, член Коллектива имени Цеткин) выпустил книгу про необходимость уничтожать вражескую инфраструктуру в целях спасения планеты. Называется How to Blow Up a Pipeline (собственно инструкций, как пишут, внутри все-таки нет, только призывы) и продается на Амазоне.
По горячим следам Татьяна Шлоссберг в New York Times опубликовала уважительную рецензию, которая отдает должное автору (Offer New Ways to Think About Environmental Disaster), но все-таки заканчивается предостережением: "But the problem with violence, even if it’s meant only to destroy “fossil capital,” is that ultimately it’s impossible to control."
Немного погодя, в мае, про эту книгу написал журнал The New Republic, мой основной источник сведений о том, что происходит в головах у левых. Рекомендую, кстати, если кто интересуется: пишут они плохо и длинно, но зато совершенно не считают необходимым как-то маскироваться, и что у остальных левых на уме, у этих прямо на языке. Так вот их рецензия заканчивается уже немного иначе:
The point of a given tactic is not to prevail against other tactics but to join an ecosystem of tactics-electoral campaigns, community and union organizing, public demonstrations, and, yes, property destruction-that as a group win out against an opposing system that spells the doom of organized human life on this planet. We should blow up no more pipelines, and drone-bomb no more refineries, than is necessary-but also no fewer. It’s not, after all, that property rights don’t matter. It’s that the contest is between the property of a few-the awful ensemble of fossil fuel infrastructure-and of the many, which is the commons of this earth.
А сейчас у автора взял интервью главред "Нью-Йоркера".
Malm advocates for “intelligent sabotage” of fossil-fuel infrastructure to prevent more carbon from being emitted in the atmosphere. “I am in favor of destroying machines, property-not harming people. That’s a very important distinction,” he tells Remnick.
Процесс продвижения идеи в массы, в общем. Глядишь, взрывы трубопроводов станут таким же благородным делом, как погромы по случаю гибели очередного гопника.

Sean Illing: Are you advocating terrorism? Andreas Malm: Some people would call it that, but that’s not a definition of terrorism that I find justifiable.
