Sometimes you want a movie that's deep, meaningful and a witty social commentary. Other times you just wanna watch shit blow up.

I went to see MI:3 last night and let me say that was one enjoyable movie of the second persuasion. It looked good from the previews, people I know who'd seen it had all said that it was two hours where you didn't have to think and go 'yay, explosions!' but I had made a personal promise to myself that I'd never support Tom Cruise's career ever since he'd gone BatShitCrazy. I mean, the guy's just... nutty verging on skeezy at the moment. How do we solve this? Get someone to buy my ticket for me *lol* I get to see the fun blow stuff up movie AND keep my dignity in tact. Woo me.

But it was great fun. Anyone looking for a good popcorn things blow up movie, this one is a lot of fun. There was one point where I had to laugh - there's a scene on a bridge and they tell us that it's the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Now, from someone who's from that area of the country, our whole theater kinda laughed when they said that. Cause, well, it was very obvious that it wasn't. I mean, hello, where are the lane signals? And you can't get to VA in four minutes from the Bay Bridge. Now, I've also heard some people claiming that it was the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel Bridge, but that would be even more ridiculous to getting to the VA side of DC. Oh the things you notice being from an area they're claiming to be in on the movie.

It's kinda like Wedding Crashers - which actually filmed a good portion here for being set here. Although the one scene at the cute, white sandy beach with lovely white-capped crashing waves? *snickers* Again, anyone from around the Bay will tell you that that doesn't exist round these parts. But again, only something one of us 'natives' would notice. That was a good movie as well. Something light and fluffy - I mean, it can't be deep and serious with Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. But who needs serious all the time?
