Outside Pixie Cabin, Friday Afternoon

Angela had shipped almost all of her stuff home, but it wasn't time to leave for her flight yet. The last of her luggage was stacked just inside the cabin living room. Outside the cabin, she sat on the ground near the campfire, poking at the ashes with a stick and thinking.

"You're not allowed to go," Rory said resolutely, crossing her arms.

"I wish I could stop it" Angela said.

[auroryborealis]

"See, what we'll do is you can come to Yale with me and live in my dorm and be my roommate and study creative writing!"

[chasingangela]

"That would be perfect," Angela said. "Can you make Yale let me in?"

[auroryborealis]

"Consider it done," Rory said loftily.

[chasingangela]

"And you could totally do it, too," Angela said with a smile. "God, Rory, I'll miss you so much. Except I won't, because Yale ... but if I was really going home, I would."

She smiled a little half-smile. "So what's the verdict on whether you'll be able to write or call?"

[chasingangela]

"Bridge's phone seems to work," Angela said. "So, definite calls, definite writing, and I'll be back for Homecoming and Graduation and everything. It's not being here, but it's something."

"Thank God," Rory sighed. "It's a lot easier if I know you're not gone forever."

[chasingangela]

"No way," Angela vowed. "We've been through way too much these last two years, I can't let you go." She knew she sounded sappy, but didn't care.

"I am going to miss you," Rory said quietly, leaning over to hug Angela.

[chasingangela]

Angela hugged back, hard. "Same to you," she said into Rory's ear. "I hope you have everything you ever wanted, you know? You deserve it."

[auroryborealis]

"Back atcha," Rory said, trying not to cry. "It's all going to work out, you'll see."

[chasingangela]

"Somehow," Angela agreed, trying to believe it. "Send lots of e-mails, call ... enjoy the glitter class. I'll see you really, really soon."
