Room 212, Friday morning

Feb 02, 2007 09:47

Angela woke up curled into a ball on Marty's bed, feeling chilly. Her first thought was to wonder why she had fallen asleep in her clothes.

Then she wondered why she'd had such a weird dream. She and Marty had been in the dorm hall when suddenly they started to fight about ... jealousy? Of Dean Tick? She'd even gone to the library to see BridgeRead more... )

Marty was also cold. Not in the "OMG-I'm-transparent-going-insubstantial" kind of way but the kind of cold you get when you sleep on the floor all night.

And when the thought process of how he ended up on the floor was finished he decided that it was best to hide under the bed and stay there.

Angela eyed him nervously. "So did we do a bunch of drugs yesterday?" she asked hopefully. "Because I had this really weird, really vivid dream."

"It wasn't a dream," Marty said as he curled up under the bed. "If it wasn't for the lack of bite marks I'd say gremlins."

"Are you sure?" Angela asked. "I mean, maybe we're so connected we had the same really long, really weird, really irrational paranoid dream." She leaned over the side of the bed to look at him. "Because if I actually thought I had accused the dean of trying to steal my boyfriend? I would have to drop out."

"Well if it was a dream then-" Marty pulled out his cellphone from his pocket (not an easy feat when you are under a bed) and checked the call history.

Yep. Over thirty calls to Callisto's cell phone.

"Yeah. Okay. We're going to need to drop out of school."

"Okay," Angela agreed. "We should probably change our names, too. Or move to Mongolia."

"We don't have to be that drastic," Marty replied. "If we're going to move I think Tahiti is a valid choice."

"Good idea. It would be warmer there," Angela mused.

She stood. "Will you come out from under the bed? Or I could crawl in there with you."

Marty reluctantly pulled himself out from under the bed and stood up as well. "You know I would never think that way about you? Right? I trust you."

"And I trust you," Angela said. "It has to have been a gremlin thing, or something."

She buried her face in her hands. "So do you think Dean Tick would like flowers as an apology?"

Marty gently reached out to Angela. "I'd probably say that Dean Tick has probably already forgotten the whole thing or didn't understand it. Right now? I think I need to find a way to keep Callisto from getting to her voice mail."

Angela leaned against him, grimacing. "You called her? Oh, and, um, one of us should cal Veronica before she comes up here to taser you."

"Called her? No. Left several messages threatening her and begging her to let you be mine? Yes," Marty said wincing and leaning his head down on her shoulder. "I think faking our deaths might be in order."

"Eeep," Angela said, moving closer. "Okay, fake our deaths, go to Tahiti ... anything else?

Marty leaned over and kissed the top of Angela's head. "I think that will cover it. Do you have any classes today? Because the trip to Tahiti will take time to arrange. I'm thinking hiding out in my room and binging on Thai food is in order."

Angela groaned and looked at the clock. "I have to go sing," she said. "But then I'll come back for pad thai."
