I can't believe Christmas is in two weeks. I just purchased my first christmas gift this morning. Two weeks away and I've bought one thing. Great. There's no tree, no decorations, no nothing up in my house. This is totally why I think that I'm just going to have to decorate my house for christmas on Thanksgiving weekend every year. It seems like if I don't do it then, it doesn't get done. And now I'm all "do I want to do all that work for two weeks?" I think we might just put up a tree this year and call it good.
Of course, I can't put the tree up until I get the giant 119 pound box out of my living room. What's in that box? A crib that needs to be assembled. Why is it in a box in the living room? Because the room it is going in isn't painted yet. Why isn't it painted yet? Because there are only 24 hours in a day. To top it off, a dresser is arriving today. Guess that will take up residence in the dining room for now. A friend suggested that I skip the tree and just decorate the crib box and call it a manger. Has a biblical ring to it, doesn't it?
My boss cancelled a phone meeting this afternoon, so I think I may take advantage and run out to do some shopping. I need to get OOTP on DVD because I still haven't seen it. And perhaps I'll purchase a gift or two for someone else while I'm out.
I officially took a new position at work on Monday. Of course, I still have to do my old job until they hire someone new. Everyone keeps asking me if I'm excited about my new job. Umm, not really. I won't be excited until I don't have to do the old job anymore. But, at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
30 weeks. I've gained 18 pounds so far. Supposedly I'm going to gain a pound a week for the next 10 weeks. That does not appeal to me in the slightest. But, Flipper's good and all is right with the world so far. I'm in that boring part of pregnancy where nothing really happens. The doctor visits are quite anticlimactic. That's probably a good thing, though.
