My time at home is always so short and it's almost over.
New years eve was fun as always. I've realized that it's not where i am or what i'm doing, but it's who i am with. this year's highlights included LOTS of it's always sunny, harry potter duels, too much rum, getting a midnight kiss from a sweaty dude, and a morning of shitty breakfast, bloody marys, and point break.
and by all of that i mean awesome. (check flickr soon for pictures and videos.)
alex and i have decided to return to the goals list of years past although this year it's called the bucket list. named so because it's things that need to happen in my life before 2008 dies and turns into O Nine.
1) travel to the grand canyon to check out the new skywalk.
http://www.grandcanyonskywalk.com/sean had the good idea of having sex on it.
2) seriously think about joining the chicago complaint choir.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIuHCWF8MoY 3) celebrate d.b. cooper day AND repeal day.
4)more camping. joshua tree was a revelation. and that was with no planning.
5) be more open to new ideas, experiences, and people.
talk to strangers and stretch my ideas of what is good and bad(art).
6) get home more often. spend time with family AND friends and make it all work.
which leads to...
7) get better with finances.
make more money
8) ride my bike as often as possible.
9) be more adventurous. this is the year i'm doing those few things that i've never had the courage to do. especially to express all sides of emotion as much as possible.
10) be my own teacher/professor.
just because i'm not in school doesn't mean that i can't learn.
11) karaoke, making legit music, and the return of the jam sesh at the michelsen compound.
12) try to get another cruise gig. and into a symphony. practicing and perhaps lessons.
there are many things that i haven't added and this is just so i don't forget them ALL by march.
2008 has potential. here's to hoping that i don't squander it.
"it's going to be our best summer ever, buddy!"
