Introducing Wicked Pissah Beads, guy!

Check it out. It's Pat's wordpress blog for his beadmaking/lampwork. We photographed everything so far last night... He's doing more today.

Glass bead sets and hemp necklaces/bracelets will be for sale soon... As well as silver earring and necklaces. Stay tuned!

Those look really cool so far!

A suggestion, though, if I may -- it might benefit the photos a bit if you were to build up a glass tabletop to photograph them on, to get rid of the shadow below the beads and jewelry and stuff.

You could just take a large empty picture frame and hold it up with soda cans for "legs" or something. It oughta work fine. :)

Yeah maybe that and a new camera. ;)

Haha. Well, the photos themselves are good enough clarity to show the items, but better equipment seldom fails to improve things.

I'm sure you already know about how to set up a studio kind of thing for photographing items like this, though? One of my cousins is a photographer; I've picked up a few things about lighting and background/prop/etc setup, and if those can be of use to you, by all means, let me know!

Yeah I took photo 1. ;) I don't have the type of equipment to get a nice macro shot, nor and real lighting, so this will have to suffice for now.

Actually, photo 1 is fine on detail. The clarity looks good to me!

And "real lighting" is easier than you might think.

If you want an easy and dirt cheap photo-studio setup... you know what, lemme just do a proper writeup and post it. :)

Until then, I'll just say that to get make some lighting diffusers, try suspending a frosted-clear shower curtain, or thin white plastic tablecloth from the section with paper plates and cups for parties, and shining your lamp through that. $3 at WalMart, easy. The lamp itself (or lamps, depending on how you want it to look) doesn't particularly matter, so long as it's diffused and doesn't turn the items some horrible shade of whatever color makes it look its worst... but it does help to use bright lights. Try a 120-watt Reveal bulb in a standard-bulb-using desk lamp?

No I mean I took photography 1 the class.

What would work better is just using a white piece of paper/cardstock/poster board and bouncing the light off of that. Easiest method... Like using an umbrella!

OH. Well in that case, I'll just shut up. :)

I will still suggest doing it on a glass table of some kind, to get rid of the dark shadows under the beads, though.

If only I had one. ;)

I'm sure I'll figure something out. Thanks though!

You don't have a large picture frame or anything that you could use the glass from? Or a big sheet of plexiglass, maybe?
