R&B singing semi-sensation Ashanti as Ashanti in
Ashanti: In Prison
A song-laden look at the justice system that will warm the hearts of viewers of all ages 13 and above.
It is the story of golden-hearted ghetto girl Ashanti (voiced by R&B singing semi-sensation Ashanti) who tries to foil a convenience store armed robbery and winds up behind bars for a crime she didn't commit.
As Ashanti learns that penitentiary life is harder than she ever could have imagined, she is aided in her spiritual journey by her cellmate, the jovial yet tough-as-nails morbidly obese deep Southern matron Aunt Nantucket (voiced by TV's Chris Rock). Ashanti's arch-rival, the queen mum of the underground cigarette cartel and lead singer of the State Women's Penitentiary Gospel Choir will be Daquirae DuClink, voiced by internationally renowned weirdo Eartha Kitt.
When DuClink shivs Ashanti in the showers after a heated argument during exercise hour, Ashanti must learn to walk again under the gentle guidance of Aunt Nantucket, Jesus, and shy but honest infirmary attendant Keef, voiced by Bow Wow (bitches best recanize he dropped the "Lil" prefix cuz the muthafucka grew up). As she finds her feet, she also finds her honey-voiced singing may be good enough to face off against DuClink in the International Women's Penitentiary Solitary Confinement Solo Singing Pageant, where the grand prize is a full pardon.
